A lot of people suffer from bowel issues, especially women over 40, but most have a very difficult time talking about it. Ergo, since their doctors often don’t know they have any problems in this area, they never receive treatment, and their quality of life suffers.
Dr. Johnny Green wanted a marketing piece that could be put into waiting rooms of family practice physicians that would prompt patients and their family members to recognize that these symptoms are not normal and may in fact be indicators of treatable medical issues. The piece would also give the patients and family the language to use when talking with their doctor and hopefully make that conversation more comfortable. By using a tear-away notepad medium, we would enable patients and family members who see the notepad to take home a sheet to use when discussing the matter with loved ones or even with their doctor.
Based on Dr. Green’s vision and the draft copy written by the St. Alphonsus physician outreach team, I built the notepad design in Adobe Illustrator to conform to established branding for Idaho Surgical Associates. Due to outside time restrictions, this project was begun and completed within five days.
