While working at Kitsap ColoRectal Surgery, I oversaw the migration from an outdated EHR system (PracticePartner by McKesson), which had been in use for ten years, to a new system (Centricity by GE) that had also been adopted by the local hospital. The new EHR program provided increased efficiency, better adherence to best practices for documentation and tracking of healthcare issues, easier compliance with Meaningful Use guidelines, and interconnectivity with local healthcare entities. The core work of the project took about four months, with two to three months of intense oversight during and after launch, and we continued improvements and customizations through the next year of use.

As Project Manager I oversaw the collection of data for customization, scheduled meetings with all vendor parties, scheduled and oversaw training sessions with staff, handled official paperwork, coordinated launch dates, coordinated and oversaw data migration, and developed custom templates and migration processes. I also helped modify clinic procedures, particularly information flow procedures, to complement the new system.

The new system was an unmitigated success, all the data was brought over correctly, and administrative procedures became vastly more efficient.
